Our landfill-biodegradable plastic can now be dropped off at REDcycle locations located at most Woolworths or Coles stores across the country. Alternatively, if that is not an option it can be disposed of in the general rubbish bin destined to landfill, where it will biodegrade approximately 90% faster than conventional plastics.

We’ve listed below the Biogone landfill-biodegradable items that can be recycled via REDcycle. Please note this may vary depending on the product use vs intended use and contents:

  • Mailing satchels
  • Ziplock/ resealable bags
  • Produce bags
  • Cling wrap
  • Aprons
  • Bin liners (with no contents or residue)
  • Dry cleaning bags
  • Tapes
  • Machine tape
  • Shipment envelopes
  • Pallet wrap
  • Bubble wrap
  • Bundling wrap

REDcycle collaborates with three Australian-owned and based recycling and manufacturing partners, who use the recovered plastic material to produce a range of recycled plastic products.

One of them is REPLAS producing high-quality and cost-effective sustainable products.

For commercial and large amounts of landfill-biodegradable plastic recycling, we recommend arranging a collection with a local plastic recycling manufacturer. Please call ahead for details and fees may apply.

In summary, we’re proud that all Biogone products not only comply with the Australian Government’s 2025 National Packaging Targets with 100% packaging needs to be either reusable, recyclable or compostable. They go beyond and will biodegrade away should the plastic not be recycled and sent to landfill instead.

This means it’s a critical time for businesses regardless of size, to start thinking now about their packaging needs, so they can start planning and switching to packaging that not only will meet government targets but offer additional environmental benefits.
