Dr Headifen presents his concerns that the broader goals of Australia’s 2025 National Packaging Targets – to make all plastic reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025. Achieving such goals requires an industry overhaul as our use of plastic is increasing, and across the world will double by 2040, with 84% of plastic currently being sent to landfill and only 13% recycled.
